Microdermabrasion uses fine crystals and a vacuum to exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells from the outer layer revealing fresh skin, it reduces fine lines, minor scars, wrinkles, sun damage and age spots to smooth and freshen your skin and can be used on your body, face, neck, chest, back and hands, if they require it.
The treatment uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals (crystal microdermabrasion) to remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. We will use a handheld device to direct the stream of crystal over the treatment area. The crystals are great for targeting problem areas. The handset then uses a mild suction to draw away the crystal and skin debris to reveal your new and improved complexion. Post-treatment requires no recovery time. Return to daily activities immediately.
Microdermabrasion removes the top layers of the skin called the stratum corneum. Microdermabrasion helps to remove the surface debris from your skin revealing the new, fresh skin beneath. Human skin regenerates at 30 day intervals and regular microdermabrasion treatments performed every 7-10 days (which is what we recommend during a course of treatment) will ensure continued improvement for your skin concerns.
SkinBase™ microdermabrasion is chemical free and non-invasive yet achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment. The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen & elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.

SkinBase Microdermabrasion is a progressive rather than aggressive treatment. You’ll feel completely relaxed and pampered with no discomfort from the process.
So – how does microdermabrasion work? This dual action both resurfaces the skin and stimulates blood flow, encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself. Collagen and elastin production is also stimulated during treatment. With each of your subsequent treatments, the intensity can be increased. Therefore, reaching to deeper layers and successfully clearing pores, reducing acne scarring, lifting pigmentation and smoothing lines and wrinkles.
A course of microdermabrasion can be used to give your skin a healthy glow. Or, you can target more specific requirements such as fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, sun damage & acne. Post- treatment your skin continues to improve due to increased collagen & elastin production. The benefits of microdermabrasion are numerous.
As a non-surgical method of skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion is quick, convenient and painless. Immediately restoring younger, smoother looking skin without the need for chemicals, lasers or injectables. The treatment exfoliates the skin and leaves your skin feeling and looking brighter in as little as 30 minutes.
Effectiveness
A single SkinBase™ treatment can remove up to three times the number of dead skin cells in a single session than other exfoliating treatments. It can also help to improve the appearance of a number of skin conditions, leaving your skin feeling smooth and fresh.
Improves skin tone and texture
After having a series of microdermabrasion treatments, you should notice an improvement in the tone and texture of your skin. As a deep exfoliation treatment that works by removing the top layer of skin, microdermabrasion can also soften fine lines and wrinkles. If you have acne scarring, you can expect to see a reduction in the appearance of scars.
Better Skin for Longer
Microdermabrasion encourages cell renewal, which means your skin will benefit from improved elasticity, a smoother texture and reduced signs of ageing
Zero Recovery Time
Unlike many skin rejuvenation treatments, microdermabrasion is non-invasive, so requires zero recovery time. It is often referred to as the ‘lunchtime facial’ because of its convenience and effectiveness.
Enhanced product absorption
Microdermabrasion removes the dead skin from your face and, once these are gone, and your pores are clear, your skin will be able to absorb your skincare products much better.
Everyone Can Benefit!
Microdermabrasion is suitable for all skin types, and therapists will assess your skin before advising on the number of treatments you will need. Whether you have normal, combination, acne-prone or sensitive skin, microdermabrasion can help!
Flexible to Suit Individual Skin Types
The treatment settings are widely adjustable; meaning therapists are able to tailor the treatment to individual skin types and problems.
Understanding your skin concerns is the first step towards achieving a glowing, healthy complexion. We can help you uncover the factors influencing your skin’s health and appearance.
Acne, Acne Scarring, Ageing Skin, Cellulite, Stretchmarks, Pigmentation and all skin types below.
The vacuum action during SkinBase Microdermabrasion works to stimulate the production of collagen, something we lose gradually as we age. This stimulation combined with the renewal of the skin improves the condition of the skin’s surface – helping to target ageing skin, stretch marks, pigmentation, cellulite, dry and dehydrated skin and acne scarring.
For anti-ageing treatments, all skin types and tones from ages 28 and up will benefit the most from a course of Microdermabrasion. However, to treat problematic skin such as acne and acne scarring, and boost confidence, all age groups can benefit from the treatment. Under 16 year olds will need a parental co-sign in order to have a course of treatments.
Dry skin is caused by under-active oil glands that do not produce enough sebum to keep the skin naturally hydrated. It may have a dull appearance and feel dry and itchy. Dry skin must be hydrated regularly from the inside (drinking water) and outside with the likes of microdermabrasion treatments, hydrating creams and lotions. Removing the dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin using The SkinBase™ Facial speeds up the rate at which the skin would normally renew itself, revealing new, fresh skin and a radiant glow.
Oily skin is produced by glands that produce too much sebum, resulting in skin that appears shiny and has some large open pores. Oily skin types are prone to develop blackheads and acne. Oily skin benefits hugely from microdermabrasion. Light moisturisers should be applied afterwards.
Sensitive skins can be dry, normal or oily and are characterised by their delicacy. Sensitive skin frequently reacts adversely to environmental conditions and often requires special treatment in order to remain in good condition. Due to the make up of The SkinBase™ Facial, those with sensitive skin can be sure that any reddening of the skin will be temporary and will subside within 24-48 hours.
Combination skin is the most common skin type. Combination skin is frequently characterised by an oily ‘T’ zone area that covers the forehead, nose and chin. While the skin around the cheeks, eyes and mouth is normal to dry. People with oily skin benefit from microdermabrasion as they can have different levels of intensity focused on different parts of their skin.
Mature skin becomes dry as sebaceous glands become less active. Skin loses elasticity and fine lines and wrinkles appear. Skin appears thinner with broken capillaries, especially on the cheek area and around the nose. Blood circulation becomes poor, which interferes with the skin nutrition making skin appear sallow. Mature skin must be hydrated well through drinking water, using nourishing moisturisers and having regular microdermabrasion treatments. microdermabrasion facials beauty salon Irchester Wellingborough Rushden
